Erase Leg Veins

Erase those unsightly leg veins with Sclerotherapy.

Do you feel embarrassed to show off your legs due to varicose or spider veins? Do you refuse to wear bathing suits or shorts in the summer because of the lumpy, visible veins? Sclerotherapy treatment may be able to help. Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive treatment that reduces the appearance of surface veins.

At Varicose to Perfect in Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Sukir Sinnathamby offers sclerotherapy as a comprehensive treatment option for spider and varicose veins. Safe and highly effective, sclerotherapy treatment is a non-invasive way to reduce vein visibility so patients feel more confident in the appearance of their legs.

While women are more likely than men to develop varicose or spider veins, both sexes are susceptible to the condition.

Varicose veins are often caused by one or more of the following factors including heredity, long periods of standing, long periods of sitting, obesity, and hormonal changes such as pregnancy and menopause.

Common symptoms can include aching, swelling, itching, heaviness, difficulty standing, and restless leg syndrome.

Sclerotherapy: The Procedure

The sclerotherapy procedure uses a special solution that collapses the veins, reducing their appearance on the surface of the skin. Dr. Sinnathamby will inject the affected veins with a sclerosing solution. The vein will be forced to collapse and fade from view over time.

The number of treatments a patient will need will be dependent on their personal health and the condition and progression of the varicose or spider veins. Many patients see results in about 2- 6 treatments.  Some patients enjoy results after just one treatment, but many patients choose to have additional treatments for optimal results.

Sclerotherapy is minimally invasive and does not require anesthesia or medication.  Most patients feel little to no discomfort during their treatments. Each treatment lasts around 15 to 20 minutes.  During the recovery period, patients will be directed to wear compression stockings to aid in the healing process.

In addition to an improved appearance, patients have reported a decrease in painful symptoms along with a renewed energy for activity after recovery.
