Venous reflux disease may cause blood to pool in the legs and force blood back up to the heart, which can result in serious health problems.

Venous reflux disease often results in the development of varicose veins. Varicose veins are a common health concern that causes swollen and discolored leg veins. Varicose veins may result in a range of issues from spider veins to unattractive and often painful bulges around the surface of the skin.

Endovenous Laser Treatment

EVLT  is a safe and effective treatment for patients suffering from varicose veins and venous reflux disease. EVLT can typically be completed in just one visit to our Springboro, OH office. Patients who undergo EVLT will experience little to no downtime, no scarring, and immediate relief.

During the EVLT procedure, Dr. Sinnathamby uses duplex ultrasound technology to plan out the positioning of the saphenous vein. After applying a local anesthetic, a catheter is placed inside the affected vein and carefully positioned near the groin. Dr. Sinnathamby places a laser fiber through the catheter, which activates radial energy that carefully closes the vein walls from the inside, causing branch veins to shrink.

After the EVLT treatment, patients will need to wear compression bandages during the day and walk at least 10 minutes three times a day for two weeks. Endovenous Laser Post-Op Instructions
